Peevish
Things that annoy me--in no specific order:
1. Mornings
2. Mondays
3. Monday mornings
4. Uninformed readers who insist on criticizing. Have some valid firepower if you come at me. I might be professionally polite, but deep down inside, I'm ripping you to shreds. Know that.
5. Night Cops shifts.
6. People who don't respect my time. If you say 3 p.m., be there at 3 p.m. If that changes, have the decency to call.
7. Editors who don't deserve their jobs. Newspaper and magazine.
8. Having to be polite to name-calling, hateful readers. Shoo fly. I have enough crap to deal with. Talk to my editor if it makes you feel better. He's on my side anyway.
9. Leaving the trash lid up.
10. Hanging up the phone on me.
11. Bad customer service. Don't you know I'm always right--and righteously indignant with cause?
12. Friends I can't trust. Can they really be considered true blue after spewing info?
13. Being judged by the physical rather than mental, professional and educational accomplishments. But that's life, eh?
14. People who don't deserve to be behind the wheel of a car.
15. Being the passenger in a car. (I have control issues. You could have so made that light!)
16. "Shawty!"
17. Not having enough time to go grocery shopping, do laundry or find a new car. I'm trying. I swear.
18. People who try to strike up convos while I'm on deadline. Go. Away.
19. Mag editors who don't bother to respond to pitches. A 'no' would be nice. You've got one month before someone else gets it.
20. Extended phone convos. I don't have the energy or the inclination. I'm yapping all day at work for interviews anyway.
21. Maybe I should stop now before I sound Scroogish.

Keep up the writing. This is a wonderful site.
All the best,
lab
"Peevish?" More like "grumpy!"
Well, you're entitled, but you really should be preening today. You have the skills and determination to zoom past all the malcontents, and I'm betting that will happen sooner than you think.
I am so with you on #1, 2, 3 & 16.
Yr funny.
